Norwegians celebrated new Embassy

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beirut arranged a reception for all the Norwegian citizens who live in Lebanon. The party was held to celebrate the new Embassy, which opened in october last year.

28/02/2008 :: The reception was arranged to celebrate the fact that the first Norwegian Embassy in Lebanon opened in october last year. Among the guests were Norwegian citizens who study or work in Lebanon, and some were accompanied by their families. The reception took place on Wednesday the 20th of February.

The Norwegian charge d'affaires Aud Lise Norheim held a welcoming speech, saying that she was happy to see that so many had decided to attend the reception, marking the opening of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beirut. Almost 80 people attended the reception.

Earlier there has only been a Norwegian Embassy office in Beirut, which has been administered from the Embassy in Damascus. Aud Lise Norheim is therefore the first Norwegian ambassador resident in Lebanon.
