Celebrating the achievement of youth

20/11/2009 // On the 19th of November 2009, Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) organized a ceremony for the 139 students graduating from the joint vocational training program class of 2008/2009.

The graduates were beaming with positive energy as they entered into the UNESCO Palace where the Graduation Ceremony was hosted. It was evident to everyone present that the graduates were proud of their achievement.

Having completed either International Computer Driving License, Microsoft Unlimited Potential or English Language courses at the NPA's Youth Resource and Training Center either in Beirut or Saida, the graduates had every reason to be proud.

Their will to pursue their right to education despite whatever difficulties they faced both as Palestinians and as youth, was applauded by the speakers, including the Norwegian Ambassador Aud Lise Norheim. Norheim also congratulated the female graduates in particular and reminded them of their important role as role models for other girls and women. More than 62 % of the total number of graduates from NPA's centres are women.

The embassy wishes to extend its warmest congratulations to all the graduates and their families and commend NPA and UNRWA for the important work they are doing in empowering youth with informal skills and formal education.
