The Ibsen Scholarships 2010

19/01/2010 // Scholarship funds amounting to NOK 1.000.000 (approx. 150.000 USD) will be awarded to Ibsen-related projects world wide.

The International Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwgian government and will be handed out for the third time in 2010. As many relevant applications as possible, from projects throughout the world are wished for. The scholarships are meant to act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen.

Sholarships are applicable to individuals, organizations og institutions within the artistic and cultural communities. The International Ibsen Scholarships are awarded annualy and the applications are subject to scrutiny by an appointed jury. Previous years, projects from Asia, North-America, Europe, Africa and Australia have received scholarships.

The presentation of the scholarships is staged in Ibsen's birth town, Skien in Norway in September 2010 and coincides with Skien International Ibsen Conference.

The application deadline for The International Ibsen Scholarships is April 15th, 2010.
