Norwegian artists at the 2011 Beirut Street Festival

-Our goal is to make people think outside the box, say Matias Nordahl Carlsen and Jørgen Evil Ekvoll. The two young men have been walking across Lebanon, from Machta Hammoud in the north, to Tyre in the south. The entire trip has been well documented, resulting in a documentary series consisting of 14 episodes, each five minutes long.

Norway has decided to make an extraordinary contribution to the refugees of Nahr el-Bared. The money - approximately USD 850,000 - is to be used to meet a shortfall in the budget for humanitarian purposes. Read the Arabic and English press releases here.

After Lahza, a project supported by the Norwegian Embassy and executed by ZAKIRA, provides Palestinian and Lebanese youths, aged between 14 and 18, with advanced photography skills.
