Important information
Due to a heavy workload, the Embassy would like to inform our customers about the following deadlines:
- Applicants must call the embassy (01-960 000, Monday-Friday 09:00-15:00) for an appointment when applying for any type of visa. It will take at least two weeks to get an appointment.
- For Danish application forms, please click here.
- For Norwegian application forms, please click here.
- For C-visa applicants (regular visitors visas for max. 90 days, including business, conferences and sports events etc.), the Embassy will normally require 3-4 weeks for processing the case. This does not apply for cases that are sent for processing to UDI, when the processing period will be longer. The Embassy will inform you when the visa is granted, provided that you have given us your contact information.
- When you come to the Embassy with your passport to get the visa sticker issued, the Embassy will require 3 days before returning the passport with the visa to you.
- If you have a valid permit in Norway, but your current residence permit has expired and you need a 7 day visa to enter Norway, you must expect a 7 day processing period after applying for the visa.
- If you want to have papers etc. verified or legalized, you must expect a 2 days processing period after submitting the papers to be legalized.

Information for Schengen Visa Applicants
Schengen regulations govern visa issuance for each traveler who wishes to visit one of the 25 countries of the Schengen Area or to travel in the Schengen Space.
In order to facilitate visa issuance procedure, we kindly invite you to keep in mind the following elements:
The visa application should be submitted to the authority (Visa Office) of the country of the main destination (main purpose of the trip/longest stay). In case of equal period of stay, to the authority of the country of first entrance;
It is important to plan your trip well in advance taking into consideration the period of time needed to issue a visa, which is at least 10 working days, with no possibility to accelerate the procedure, as well as the time needed in order to get an appointment, which may vary according to the season;
The application file shall be submitted in full, i.e. it should contain all required documentation (the list of requirements is available on the website or by calling the visa section).
