Norway fulfills aid pledge to Lebanon

At the donor conference held in Paris 25 January 2007, Norway pledged to provide assistance worth 100 million to Lebanon in 2007. Preliminary figures indicate that the final amount will be NOK 98.3 million. 

In addition, Norway provided NOK 150 million to the United Nations Relief and and Works Agency (UNRWA) as general asststance in 2007, and a considerable portion of these funds have benefited Lebanon.

The NOK 98,3 million was allocated as follows:

UN special Coordinator for Lebanon :5 700 000

Oil for development:2 500 000

Renovation of houses following the war in 2006:  

 7 200 000

General humanitaran assistance: 57 400 000

Organisational development:4 900 000

Environmental measures:13 100 000

Mine clearance/cluster minitions:7 500 000

Total: 98 300 000
